Toward the end of 1998 the owner of the only art stamp store in Anchorage tried to persuade us to buy out his business. Rona was interested in pursuing this addition to our ever-growing business even though she had never stamped before. We attempted to make an offer on the store. By this time, what he had to sell was product that was several years old and he had not been able to sell. We decided to start our own art stamp business. With credit cards in hand and a 30-day net account with many of the major art stamp dealers we started ARcTic STAMPS.
